An early Victorian mahogany hall chair, the heavy moulded and shaped top rail over a fretwork and carved central panel of scrolling foliage and a shield.  The shaped seat has a moulded edge and is supported on turned and square cut tapering octagonal front legs and square cut back sweeping rear legs.
